More than a century of experience, knowledge and riding passion lies behind each 2013 Harley-Davidson.

Highlights of the 2012 Harley-Davidson line include:

Ten Harley-Davidson models are offered as 110th Anniversary Editions, each serialized and featuring exclusive paint and commemorative solid bronze fuel tank badges. Production will vary by model and will be strictly limited to ensure exclusivity. These models come with all available factory-installed options as standard equipment. (See separate release for more details on the 110th Anniversary Editions.)

The Harley-Davidson® Street Bob® gets a tougher profile for 2013 with new blacked-out triple clamps and powertrain, and a chopped rear fender with side-mounted license plate and stop/turn/tail lights. This rowdy Dyna bobber features a solo seat and mini-ape handlebar mounted on new risers that make it easier to customize the Street Bob. New paint options include Hard Candy Custom metalflake and a scalloped two-tone option. (See separate release for more details on the 2013 Street Bob.)

By choosing from different wheels, paint and engine finishes, the customer can dramatically alter the look of the motorcycle. Different combinations of foot-control location, seat choices and handlebar can be selected to adjust the fit of the motorcycle to rider stature.

Hard Candy Custom embraces a trend that’s reemerged from garages around the globe. Now the sparkle of Hard Candy Big Red Flake, Hard Candy Lucky Green Flake and Hard Candy Coloma Gold Flake can be ordered as Original Equipment paint and serve as the foundation for personal customization. At least one Hard Candy Custom color will be offered on these Harley-Davidson motorcycle models: Seventy-Two™, Street Bob®, Blackline®, Softail® Deluxe, and Forty-Eight™. New and recently introduced Genuine Motor Accessory and Harley-Davidson® MotorClothes® items extend the Hard Candy Custom theme. (See separate release for more details on Hard Candy Custom.)

What is being hailed as the “largest federal bust of alleged g*** activity in Indianapolis’ history,” just went down at the Outlaws Motorcycle Club’s clubhouses in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Gary.

Evidently SWAT members cleared the way this morning for FBI and local authorities to come in and search the clubhouses and surrounding blocks. Evidence was boxed up and motorcycles removed from the premises’, but with the court documents remaining sealed, we are unsure as to exactly what the feds are looking for. However, we do know that there were 43 arrests warrants issued and ranges in charges from Racketeering to Mail Fraud. We also know that more than 300 federal and local law enforcement agents were involved in the bust.

More info as it becomes available… there will be a new conference at 2pm local time.

Kevin Bean’re… the name is synonymous with motorcycle travel and modern biker culture. Although he is more often seen in his Top Hat and some swanky duds like a purple tux, he is a staple at motorcycle events across the country. And yes, he rides to every single freakin’ one of them… all the time… in all weather… his raked out purple bagger has been put through the ringer and I would venture to guess is you added up all the bass flake in his paint job it would still number less than the amount of biker events this guy has attended.

David Uhl… the name is synonymous with biker culture as well… across time and space. He is best known for his incredible paintings of Harley Davidsons and scenes from rallies and other cultural events where biker’s are present. He has depicted everything from board-track racers to bikes hoisted onto elephants to be taken on hunts through Africa.

Bean’re has been mentioned more than once in this blog and Uhl has his work regularly showcased… now is the opportunity to take part in curatorial history! David is apparently painting an image of Bean’re! And Kevin has asked that you pipe in! So help make this all-important selection. Visit the link below and peruse the images. They will be on Bean’re’s site (you may wish to friend him while you are there), then simply write in your vote for the greatest image! I would also love to hear it right from your mouth, so post here too!

My vote is… well… you will have to visit the link to find out what my vote is going to be.

Keith and Amber Britton were struck from behind on their motorcycle by an SUV slowing down to approach a red traffic signal in Port Orange, Florida. The SUV was said to be driven by a 64-year-old woman. Keith was seriously injured and Amber was killed. The couple traveled to all the major motorcycle events to promote their patented Diamond Heads process. This year, while at the Daytona Rally, they were promoting their new line of Diamond Heads diamond-cut motorcycle accessories that are intended for use with motors that already have the patented Diamond Heads process on their cylinders and cylinder heads.

It is a huge loss to the motorcycle community and our hearts go out to Keith and the entire Britton Family.

March 15th Lineup Includes R. Lee Ermey and Victory Motorcycles

(March 1, 2012—Daytona Beach, FL) When event promoters Carrie Repp of R&R Promotions and Ken Conte of Rise Above Consulting first launched their “Biker Fusion” fundraiser after Repp’s 10 year run of the Biker’s Ball, they had no idea how much the motorcycle industry and other enthusiasts would embrace the idea of a benefit during Daytona Beach Bike Week for a great cause. In their fifth year and after more than $60,000 raised, Conte and Repp are in awe of the industry’s support as their 5th Annual Biker Fusion fundraiser comes together on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Doghouse Bar and Grill on Main Street in Daytona.

This year’s event features a presentation of a custom Victory Motorcycles to legendary Marine and Drill Instructor R. Lee Ermey, a.k.a. “Gunny.” Victory will reveal a custom motorcycle designed and painted by the Victory Industrial Design staff that “Gunny” can ride on all his upcoming rides. The fundraiser will once again benefit Soldiers’ Angels, a volunteer-led non-profit that provides aid and comfort to active servicemen and women of the U.S. military as well as veterans and their families. Rally TV will provide red-carpet video coverage of the event.

“We’re overwhelmed and humbled by the response we’ve gotten from the motorcycle industry. We’re grateful to our myriad in-kind sponsors, and to Victory Motorcycles and San Diego Harley-Davidson stepping up as new sponsors. The donations for our auction and raffle are a great demonstration of the generosity of this community and the spirit of Daytona Bike Week,” says Ken Conte, event organizer and owner of Rise Above Consulting. “People enjoy the event because it gives motorcycle enthusiasts the opportunity to rub elbows with an impressive list of world-class, A-List builders, industry leaders and celebrities, while raising money for an outstanding cause.”

The general public can attend this VIP event by making a $25 donation at the door, and those planning to come are encouraged to RSVP at http://www.facebook.com/events/238503579576295/. This year’s fundraising event includes a live auction featuring Precision Billet products, entertainment, and a number of great bikes from an impressive line-up of builders, moto-journalists and industry notables.

“Last year’s hosts Dave Perewitz and Paul Yaffe return, joined by Steve Broyles for this year’s benefit,” says Carrie Repp, event organizer and owner of R&R Promotions. “They did a fantastic job firing up the crowd and getting people to look within and donate, and this year they are all donating something handcrafted for the auction. It’s amazing for us to see the overwhelming support we receive each and every year, and it has been an honor to plan and organize an event that benefits such a worthwhile cause.”

Biker Fusion has quickly become an industry and Daytona Bike Week staple, and organizers hope to continue raising funds for our troops for years to come. Event sponsors for the 5th Annual Biker Fusion include: The Doghouse Bar and Grill; Kandgcycles.com; Spectro Oil; Rise Above Consulting; R&R Promotions; Hot Leathers; Ride Wright Wheels; San Diego Harley-Davidson; Panama City Beach Motorcycle Week; Precision Billet and Victory Motorcycles . The event starts at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the general public for a $25 donation at the door, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Soldiers’ Angels.

About Biker Fusion

Carrie Repp of R&R Promotions started The Bikers Ball and produced it for 10 years, raising more than $1 million for Boys & Girls Clubs with the support of the motorcycling community. She moved on to producing the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse, and saw an opportunity to continue the tradition of an industry event for a good cause during Daytona Bike Week to benefit Soldiers’ Angels. Repp saw firsthand the great public relations work Ken Conte was doing for the Roadhouse, and asked him to join forces to create Biker Fusion. “Fusion” came from how Repp, Conte and many others fused their energy, effort and monies for a worthwhile cause. With the Roadhouse on hiatus this year, Repp is working to on new opportunities. She and Conte wanted to continue Biker Fusion together, and teamed up to continue raising money for our troops and providing an opportunity for their friends and associates to come together each year in Daytona Beach Bike Week. As a team, they are proud that the event has raised so much money for U.S. troops, and they are thankful for the amazing support they’ve gotten over their five years of collaborating on the best industry event of Daytona Beach Bike Week.
