Hells Angel Chad Wilson and prospect John Midmore  were found not guilty of attempted murder in the August 8, 2006 shootings of five members of the Outlaws MC at Custer State Park.  Both men still face charges for conspiracy to commit murder, but their lawyer, David Kenner, feels this will not hold up in court.  He states if there was no attempted murder, there could be no conspiracy.  Regardless of Kenner’s position, if the two men involved in the shooting go to trial for conspiracy, the verdict could carry life sentences for each.

Interestingly enough, the Outlaws do not make a habit of attending the annual Sturgis Rally.  According to ATF agent Robert Boland, the Outlaws have only made a strong showing in Sturgis twice, once in 1990 and again in 2006.  He feels that any further conflict between the two clubs will most likely happen where territory overlaps rather that again in the Black Hills.  Neither the Hells Angels nor the Outlaws claim South Dakota as part of their territory.
