Press Release
A British built bike officially named as the world’s finest custom Harley-Davidson will be among eyecatching highlights at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live , courtesy of show sponsors Carole Nash.

Strike True II will make its first UK show appearance after taking the Modified Harley title at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building. Created by Sussex-based Shaw Speed & Custom the stunning Softail Crossbones is the first British bike to clinch the prestigious award at the world-famous event.

National pride will be bolstered when the victorious bike takes centre stage on the Carole Nash stand (R605, Hall 3A) at the country’s biggest bike show. There visitors will be able to admire at close hand the magnificent machine which features ‘40s style speedster handlebars, handmade rear fender and petrol tank fabricated by the team at Shaw Speed and Custom, the customising wing of Holmes Hill dealer, Shaw Harley Davidson .

“It’s a fantastic feeling to have created a world-beating bike. It’s a huge achievement and a fantastic and just reward for the hard work creativity and expertise of the team here,” commented Harley-Davidson Shaw Dealer Principal Steve Willis. “It’s great too that Strike True II will also now reach a wider audience at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live. We’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved so gaining a platform as high profile as this is fantastic

The appearance of the bike is just one of many reasons to visit the Carole Nash stand. The company is promising an enticing array of custom and classic bikes which will sit alongside the twelve finalists in the Britain’s Got Biking Talent competition. Bike beauties from across the contest’s entry categories – Sports, Classic, Choppers & Customs, Streetfighters, Concours & Restored and Street Modified – will be displayed on a special stand next to Carole Nash’s.

Show visitors can also collect their free Carole Nash goody bag which will include the annual must-have calendar featuring all of the Britain’s Got Biking Talent winners.

The second kit that grabbed me and sucked me into a wonderful daydream state was a Mutant Buell by Redneck Enginering.  Again, I thought of my better half as the Bob This model was so wonderfully low and light.  Not that I wouldn’t spend time on it as well, that is if she would share (or accidentally leave the keys behind when she goes out).  The Mutant can be used with a number of donor Buells and Redneck has info on all the details.  I have spoken with Nobody (yes, Nobody… he runs the joint) and found everybody to be very helpful and easy to talk to.  I was told to let them know which donor I was planning to use so that they could make any necessary mods to the set up before sending it to me.  You see, these are all hand made to order, so you know you are getting a fine custom product.  And again, a very reasonable price.  Frame and body kits begin at $3000 and go on up to $5500.  The two set ups I am most interested in, the Bob This and Drop Seat models, cost about 4k and come with all you need to trick out a donor bike.  Again, I ask that you check them out for more info and again ask that you try to get them to send me a kit to put together and blog about!  www.redneckengineering.com
