What is being hailed as the “largest federal bust of alleged g*** activity in Indianapolis’ history,” just went down at the Outlaws Motorcycle Club’s clubhouses in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Gary.

Evidently SWAT members cleared the way this morning for FBI and local authorities to come in and search the clubhouses and surrounding blocks.  Evidence was boxed up and motorcycles removed from the premises’, but with the court documents remaining sealed, we are unsure as to exactly what the feds are looking for.  However, we do know that there were 43 arrests warrants issued and ranges in charges from Racketeering to Mail Fraud.  We also know that more than 300 federal and local law enforcement agents were involved in the bust.

More info as it becomes available… there will be a new conference at 2pm local time.

For those of my readers who follow the news concerning motorcycle clubs, this is an important note from the lawyer for the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.  The news has been that the murder that took place while trying to re-claim a tape of a boyfriend and girlfriend was connected to the club.  That was not the case as is pointed out by Theophilopoulos.

Suspect Not in Outlaws

Sheriff Grady Judd was recently quoted in a shooting article on The Ledger.com regarding the person charged with the shooting [first-degree murder and armed burglary], Joey Midgett.

In the article [“Lakeland Man Was Killed Over Sex Tape, Sheriff Says,” Dec. 31,www.theledger.com/article/20091231/NEWS/912319984], the Polk County sheriff stated that Midgett was a member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Gang. He further stated that Midgett is a “documented member” of the Outlaws.

As the attorney for the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, I feel compelled to bring the citizens of Polk County the truth, not the fallacies that Sheriff Judd pollutes the people with through the media.

The Outlaws are a motorcycle club and not a gang. In his own mind, the sheriff categorizes this motorcycle club as a gang. Joey Midgett, has never been a member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club. The sheriff jumped to this conclusion because Midgett has a tattoo that reads “Support Your Local Outlaws.”

Supporting the Outlaws does not equate with being a patched member of the club.

Sheriff Judd’s statements can be attributed to either bad intelligence within his department, his hatred for the Outlaws (who just happen to do more community service for the public than his own department each year) or his own complacency as being the sheriff for far too long.

Being the sheriff does not allow one to spread misinformation as they please to further their own agenda. The public deserves better than what Sheriff Judd gives them.
