Many of you know Nate Beavers and you might be familiar with his new shop Epoch Tattoo in Houston (www.tattoosbynate.com). Well, besides offering the very best in derma graphics, Epoch is now in a position to offer the very best in piercing and body jewelry.
Taurian Piercing & Metals owned and operated by body piercer Byriah Dailey (formerly located at 1505 Westheimer) has now joined with Epoch Tattoo and has taken over the upstairs level of the shop to fulfill everyone’s piercing and body jewelry needs (www.taurian.com).
Byriah has been piercing in Houston since 1992. He started making body jewelry about a year later. Many people remember him piercing out of his house before piercing became really popular over ten years ago. Byriah founded Taurian in 1994 and divides his time between piercing and making jewelry for the shop. In his spare time, he works as Head Engineer for the piercing / suspension performance group CORE – where he designs and builds equipment for shows (www.wearecore.com).
If you have seen my recent photographs involving suspension artists, you have seen the hook throwing abilities of Byriah himself. Look for more in the way of photography down the line and look for an update on Taurian and their facility as they quickly settle into their new digs… in fact, I think I am going to sign myself up for a surface piercing by the master himself!
